Join Our Community

Strong Towns Langley's "Meetups & Rides" brings together community members for regular bike rides, casual coffee meetups, and social gatherings. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just looking to meet like-minded people who care about urbanism, accessibility, and active transportation in Langley — there's a place for you here.

All rides are designed for all ages and all abilities. We ride along safe, protected routes with stops at local cafes and breweries.

Meet the Organizer

Nathan Tiessen and other community members organize these regular bike rides as a Strong Towns Langley initiative. Nathan has been featured in The Langley Union for his work on the Belmont Bike Bus, which helps break the car-dependency cycle for families.

"Parents don't feel like it's safe for their kids to walk or bike to school, so they drive them, so there are more cars around the school, so parents don't feel like it's safe for their kids to walk or bike to school. I'd like to help break that loop." — Nathan Tiessen, via The Langley Union

Shout Out to HUB Cycling Langley

We wouldn't have many of the safe routes we ride on without HUB Cycling Langley's advocacy work. They've been the strongest advocates for making both the Township and City of Langley more bike-friendly, organizing bike-to-school weeks, running successful campaigns, and working with councils for years. If you're passionate about cycling and want to get more involved in advocacy, they're the folks doing the heavy lifting.
