Why We Do This
Safe & Accessible Streets
We advocate for streets that work for everyone—whether you're walking, cycling, using transit, or driving. Everyone deserves to move safely around their community.
Thriving Local Businesses
Walkable neighbourhoods support local businesses and create vibrant community centers where shops, cafes, and services can flourish.
Diverse Housing Options
We support a range of housing choices so that people of all ages, incomes, and life stages can find a place to call home in Langley.
Green & Public Spaces
Public parks, plazas, and green spaces are essential for community connection, recreation, and environmental health.
Financial Sustainability
Development patterns that generate more tax revenue than maintenance costs create financially resilient communities for the long term.
Community Connection
When neighbourhoods are designed for people, residents have more opportunities to meet, connect, and build relationships.

How much time commitment is expected?
There's no minimum time commitment required. You can participate at whatever level works for you—whether that's simply attending occasional meetings, joining online discussions, or taking a more active role in our initiatives. We appreciate any time and energy you're able to contribute!

I don't live in Langley. Can I still join?
Absolutely! While our focus is on improving Langley, we welcome supporters from neighbouring communities and beyond. The principles we advocate for apply to communities everywhere. If you're from another area, you might also want to check if there's a Strong Towns group near you.
How can I contribute beyond membership?
There are many ways to contribute! You can volunteer at events, share your skills (writing, graphic design, photography, etc.), lead a Jane's Walk, help with research, speak at meetings, or represent us at community events. We value all types of contributions and will help find ways for you to get involved that match your interests and abilities.
